The Breakthrough Company by Keith McFarland joins the likes of Blink, The Tipping Point, Good to Great, Built to Last, Freakonomics, The World is Flat, and The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People as a member Sertifi’s Book Club Hall of Fame.
Specifically, McFarland analyzes 9 small companies that have grown by leaps and bounds to become major players in their markets despite obstacles that seem (sometimes) impossible to overcome. The 5 year, 7,000 company study highlights the amazing commonalities between each of his determined 9 breakthrough companies. Such traits are identified clearly and McFarland’s practical blueprint to becoming a breakthrough company is at the least educational (if not motivating) dependent on your company and/or market.
We can only hope this month’s Book Club selection – Groundswell – is nearly as interesting/well written.
